Well that is how the old saying goes. But look at trainer David Franklin, I think he is the most patient man in greyhound racing now and it has certainly paid off.
David trains this striking 35kg greyhound called Cullquin Panda for the Number One Syndicate. This greyhound came into his care in June 2018, but he never produced him until December. The reason behind the long wait on the sidelines was a serious metacarpal injury.
Since returning to the track he has put together an impressive four wins and a second from five starts and recorded some very nice times. On Sunday he recorded a P.B. of 19.47 over the 350m and in previous weeks has run consistently over the 300m recording 16.64, 16.87 and 16.70. Along the way he has increased his winnings to $4,765 and progressed through the grades.
I’m sure this is not the last time we will see the smiling face of David Franklin with Cullquin Panda at Healesville.
