What a big weekend for Healesville club members

With such a lot happening on Sunday 30th August, it was really rewarding for a couple of our HGA members.

Sunday 30th August started really early for both Adele Powell in Stanhope and Michael Ryan in Boronia.

Adele was loading up to head to the Yarra Valley with a runner in the Healesville Cup Heats, while Michael had a big day ahead of him, heading to Lang Lang for day two of the prestigious Waterloo Cup with Making Gravy, who he was handling for trainer Adele.

While Adele finished fourth in her cup heat with You Fugitive, Michael was putting in the miles walking to and from the slips down in Lang Lang where Making Gravy was victorious in the 147th running of the coursing classic having gone undefeated in his coursing career this season.

Another of our members, Ashlee Terry also had a big day when she won the opening heat of the 2020 Healesville Cup.  Having only had Out Of Sprite in her care for a short time, she was very excited with the result and has drawn box 3 in the Group 3 final next Sunday.  Ashlee is also no stranger to the Waterloo Cup having also had success in winning the time honoured event.

The 2020 TAB Healesville Cup final will be run on Sunday 6th September, and despite the public not being able to attend in person due to Covid-19 restrictions,  it will be an exciting race and can be viewed on the Watchdog Live.  The main event will be supported by the Castle of Mey Consolation over 350m.
