A large crowd was in attendance on Friday 15th April to celebrate the first ever Victorian Greyhound racing meeting at Healesville. The weather was perfect, the racing was exciting and we raised lots of money for the Royal Children’s Hospital Good Friday Appeal.

With an outside broadcast from SENTrack personality Andrew Bensley kicking off the activities, live music to entertain visitors during the day, chocolate Easter eggs for the kids and the drawing of the winning ticket in our fundraiser it was a very busy day.

The winner of the Ride-on Mower was Michael Ryan of Boronia.  The Lucky Square Easter Egg Hamper was won by Darren Ryan, also from Boronia.  A very good Easter for the father/son combo.

The feature race event of the day was the Good Friday Cup and the winner was Master Ogilvy trained by James Shaw from Seymour.  Master Ogilvy was wearing the No. 3 race rug which resulted in the club donating another $50 to the R.C.H Good Friday appeal for 2022 and GRV doubling the donation on the day.

Counting continues of funds raised, and this year the Healesville Greyhound Association will donate in excess of $7,000 to the appeal.  A wonderful effort and thank you to everyone who participated.
