An exciting new concept that commenced in 2023, the Emerald Series features eight heats of four greyhounds. The eight fastest times recorded in the heats go through to the series final. Race caller James Van De Maat believes the series is a genuine value add for Straight Track Racing! The Jason Thompson-trained Unleash Collinda sprinted to victory in the inaugural running of the Emerald clocking a time of 16.25 seconds.
2024
2024 saw Ash Terry take out the series with a smashing run of 16.24 from Destructively.
2025
Serial Sticker was dead set faultless when winning the Sportsbet Emerald for Brendan Pursell at a scorching time of 16.08. The run sits as the 3rd fastest ever over 300m at the ‘Ville – behind track record holder Unleash Collinda (16.057) and Maybe Yesterday (16.080).
