The GRV Vic Bred Maiden Final (350m) highlights a good program of racing at Healesville this Sunday with a few rising stars engaged.
Heats and Semi-finals have been conducted over the past two weeks and no greyhound has been more impressive than the Angela Galea-trained It’s All Talk. Making her debut in her heat two weeks ago she sizzled up the straight in the flying time of 19.01. In her semi she had to do it from behind but was still too good and was particularly strong to the line. She is extremely exciting and well drawn on Sunday and she clearly looks the one to beat.
Her main danger for mine is American Warrior, who is drawn out wide which is a plus for him. If he can wind into it he can run a big race at good odds here. Unlucky in his semi last week, I expect to see him thereabouts at the gum tree but whether he can match It’s All Talk remains to be seen.
Other chances go to Needs Wings (1), who is drawn to trail the favourite early. Littermates from the Darren Pattinson kennel in Verdict (4) and Destroy (5), who both went exceptionally well in their semi wins last week must also be respected along with Invictus Blu (6), who gave It’s All Talk something to catch last week.
My Selections: 2-7-5-1
Other winning chances throughout the day include Green Stone in Race 4, who races well up the straight, Rockon Audacious, who got very close to the track record last Sunday and Pretty Bomb, who is beautifully drawn in Race 10.
Watch: It’s All Talk (6) comes from behind to win her semi-final in 19.12sec.
