Healesville Cup

The Healesville Cup is Victoria’s only country cup which is run on a straight track.

The Healesville Greyhound Association requested the relegation of the Healesville Cup down to Group 3 status from 2017 to provide a wider distribution of prize money in other feature races hosted at Healesville. However, with Healesville Cup heats maintaining first prize pools of $5,000, and $25,000 to go to the winner of the final, this race is sure to continue to attract the finest sprinters in Victoria and abroad.

HISTORY

The first Healesville Cup was run on the previous grass track in 1990 when won by Eureka Man over the 340 metres distance, before being converted to a sand surface in 2011 (350 metres). Previous winners include Heading West (1994), Koutafidamedes (1997) and Schwatzanager (2006/07).
