Thunderbolt Jack’s impressive Maiden heat win


Seaspray trainer John Boreland produced not only a winning double at Healesville on Monday afternoon though his chaser Thunderbolt Jack was most impressive when recording a fast 19.51 seconds in a heat of the rich GRV Vic Bred Maiden Series over the 350-metre trip from box four.

 

After a good exit from the boxes Thunderbolt Jack moved towards the rail putting himself midfield by the first 50 metres before delivering a late drive to surpass Wild scoring by 2 1/2 lengths with Yasawa Lights away for third.

 

Parwan trainer Paul Abela prepared a rather impressive debutant Aston Clurey (8) ,for prominent owner Ray Borda, winning the opening heat running 19.67 seconds while defeating Nowhere Nathe and Emerald City.

 

From The Brink was the start of a big day for Woodleigh trainer Graham James qualifying for the Vic Bred Maiden with a 19.57 heat winning effort over All Hollywood scoring by 4 1/2 lengths as Superior Jacob filled out the minors.

 

Graham’s other heat winner Sand Runner delivered in spades running 19.82 seconds from out in box eight. Terrence Erenshaw has Bea The Qeen heading into the Sunday’s final following it’s 19.89 heat victory off box three.
